Ok, if your Kapampangan language is a little weak, Ospital Ning Angeles simply means "Hospital of Angeles". Or as it is better known to all locals both Filipino and foreigner "ONA".

This medium sized hospital has long been a beacon in the community helping all those in need, but time has not been kind to the place. Equipment has either broken or simply become antiquated and no longer of use, beds are old and shabby, floors and ceilings are in disrepair, CRs are places you wouldn't even want to send your dog to relieve himself.

But all that is changing...

ONA is getting a facelift and it is from some sources that you wouldn't think possible. Through the Rotary Club of Clark Centennial mobilizing private corporations and synthesizing local and federal government funding, ONA is slowly taking a step into the 21st century and becoming an example to the rest of the Philippines of how these three forces (Local Government, Federal Government, and Private Enterprise) can come together and reshape a community.

Dr. Froilan Canlas is a busy man.

A long time Rotarian, he is also the on-call physician for a number of hotels including but not limited to the Royal Amsterdam, Orchid Inn, and Wild Orchid Resort.

He recently was appointed the director of ONA and charged with the renovation of the aged hospital with the goal of bringing it up to standard and becoming a shining example of local, federal, and private enterprise working together for a common goal.

Along with Mark Smith, also from the Rotary, helping a community is this man's passion.

There couldn't be a better man for the job...

The Rotary Club of Clark Centennial, officially chartered on 28 Mar 99, has since their inception been dedicated to helping the local community through generous donations and tireless efforts of the many Rotarians both local Filipinos and foreigner members.

While their most publicized and widely supported project through the Tuloy Foundation is the Bahay Bata Center, the renovation and modernization of ONA is being undertaken through other funds and resources.

Nothing is being taken away from the Children's Center in any way.

The Rotary Club of Clark Centennial continues to show the way mobilizing federal and local governments together with private organizations to great achievements such as the Bahay Bata and now ONA Renovation Project.

Spearheading the ONA Project for the Rotary and helping Dr. Canlas is long time Angeles City philanthropist Mark Smith.

YOU CAN HELP!
